In the summer of 1989, Henry Weber, a nuclear physicist, wants to escape the insignificance of his life. Thus he follows an unexpected invitation to East Germany where he falls in love with sixteen-year-old Iris. But his new flame is not only twenty-one years younger but also the daughter of Leo Landowski, an officer in East German intelligence in charge of investigating Henry.
